How Money is Made From Marketing

I remember when I just didn't understand how money was actually made online.
I understood physical products and how when that changed hands a fee could be charged.
Although when it came to digital products it was unclear how and where that money actually came from, many assumed it wasn’t real and that was a scam - they too did not understand digital products, unfortunately most wont and aren't willing to learn, they are shut off because quite simply, they are happy with what they are doing currently.
Digital products can come in the form of information or services - so usually there is some form of result involved.
Being able to deliver that service or a result means that people will pay you for the time you spend on them.
Information can include educational content such as webinars, courses or how-to’s, Coaching/Consulting. Tools and templates, i.e, worksheets, checklists or frameworks. Personal development by mindset coaching, motivational content or a lifestyle design. Specific knowledge, marketing & business growth, financial advice, memberships.
The list goes on, there is so many ways in which without actually having a physical product you can simply speak to someone and say that you’ll give them a certain result, for a certain amount.
Money isn’t created, it just changes hands.
Some may even earn commissions on a digital product either because;
a) they own it and have someone else selling their product, or
b) because someone else pays them to promote their product.
Lets say you were now promoting someone’s course, You are talking to someone about the course and when someone says they are up for it - whatever percent commissions go to you and the rest to the owner/s.
This could be 50% commissions - split down the middle, it could even be 10 percent, some are even 100% commissions because they use other factors embedded in the course to make revenue instead.
Another good way to frame it is by referrals, you get paid for promoting others product or you pay them a commission because you have a product or service that you want shared.
No matter what happens with the money itself there is usually some form of result delivered and to get to this point there are several steps that need to be taken in order to ask for the sale to deliver the result.
This is where sales comes into the equation, sales is the ability to gather information & based on that information present their offer and frame it in a way that is relevant to their problems so much you could call it the solution for them - once you have an airtight logical and emotional case of why they need to buy.
The questions you are asking in the beginning are all designed to get a deeper understanding of their current situation and the challenges they are involved in.
When you feel you have uncovered deep enough reasons of why they would want to change that now, ask them if they are ready for a change.
From there you start to paint a picture of what the future looks like to them having solved their problems and when you are ready you ask them if they are definitely committed to doing that.
This is the moment you can present a vague offer of what you are going to do.
You don't talk about features or components, the only thing that they should be thinking about is the result being solved - so you tell them;
“This is what you need to fix x, y & z you’ve told me about, the price is x, You up for that?”
You then give them the payment method and let them know how easy and quick it is to sign up then let them know what they’ll get access to.
So you’re networking, you're talking to a lot of people and building relations, you’re marketing everything online and now you’re selling.
Because you’re marketing online and being authentic about your life consumers feel like they know you and trust you.
That is half the battle, the other half is just giving them a reason to take that leap of faith with you, because you’re an expert and you know what will fix their problem.
This is what they pay for, the service you bring to them because they need a problem fixed and are willing to bet money that you can fix it - all because you learned how to market yourself in a way where people are happy to pay you.
So money is made through having something to sell, sharing you and what you sell, and speaking to people to sell it.
If you learn this skill you will go far in life - helping others achieve success will bring it to you.
Marketing doesn't bring you money in and of itself, it has a knock on effect for awareness and in that awareness and communications it brings, the more you can present your offer.
